A couple of weeks ago I came across a post on the Warrior forum regarding keyword research and this post really hit the nail on the head when it comes to keyword research.  There is so much different information available on keyword research and so many people do so many different things with different criteria so how do you know which one is right.

Well this post was a lot different than any information I’ve read before on keyword research and it made a lot of sense, so here are the six criteria for researching for a good keyword.

1. Competitors on page one of Google for the keyword phrase all have page ranks between 0-4, a good mix is best.

I have done a lot of keyword research in the past and always thought I knew everything there was to know.  Many people say that the key to ranking well with a site and making money is by doing your keyword research thoroughly and building your website around a good keyword phrase.  I have done this and unfortunately the majority of the time I still haven’t ranked all that well or make all that much money with my sites.

So I started wondering if there is something I’m missing!

Well I started researching keyword research and it turns out that many, many people do their keyword research the same way that I had been doing it so I wasn’t really doing it wrong.  However, I did also find out that many people also add some extra criteria that I was unaware of.  Narrowing the keyword phrases down even further and as a result making it much easier to rank for that keyword phrase.
