I wasn’t going to post on here today because I haven’t really done much to my niche blogs. I am now ranking #2 in Google for both blog #1 and blog #2 which is great but still very little traffic. This actually has me a little confused as I did choose these niches with the minimum of 2900 a month searches so I would have thought that sitting at #2 in Google would bring more traffic than it is, so that is quite disappointing.
So far I’m a little disappointed with it all as the progress is slow and traffic is slow, but having said that it is also my own fault because I’m really not putting the effort in that I should be. I should be adding more blog posts and writing and submitting more articles than I am so it is completely my fault for being slack.
There just always seems to be something else coming up, like kids off school sick etc. But that’s no excuse really, I should be doing more than I am and then I might actually start seeing results faster.
Blog #3 has gone off on the Google dance again so I’m just waiting for that one to come back AGAIN!
I actually purchased some PLR articles yesterday in one of my niches (blog #2) so I’m going to go through and rewrite them and add them to the blog and also rewrite them for article directories for backlinking.
Well that’s about it – not much to update unfortunately, so I better go and get some work done so next time I post I can have better updates to post.
Oh, one more thing I’ve actually spent the last day or so doing is organizing myself with my blogs. I went out and bought some notebooks with dividers and I now have one blog in each section. I have basically just set up the first page for each section with the name of the niche, the url of the blog, the main keyword phrase and then all the other keyword phrases and the number of searches and competition for each one.
Then I have a whole section of the notebook devoted for each niche so I can keep track of what I’m doing with each blog. I am recording everything I do and also a ‘to do’ list of things that need done with the blog. So each day when I go to work on a particular blog I can get out my notebook and see what I need to do and then record it once it’s done.
I decided to do this as when you have a few websites you start to lose track of what you are doing with them, so ultimately I hope to set up this system with all my sites. I’ve decided NOT to buy any new domains and just concentrate on all the domains I already own and work on each site, one at a time, until I am doing well with each one.
So I do recommend if you are starting out with niche blogging to have some sort of system where you can record everything you need to about your niche and your site. I think it should help to keep me focused more on each blog.
